After 11 years of development, the electronic health card is still ready for use. According to zeit.de it is supposedly soon declared to be failed.
The health insurance funds, e.g. the TK develop their own patient records, which we will also dock to smartvisit in the future. This makes the personal smartphone the health center with its own file and data integrity.
This is a big step towards “patient empowerment”.
