High-tech fabrics for wearables

New fabrics that have both electrical conductivity and are flexible and breathable are available for comfortable high-tech clothing. This is to provide wearables with power, also fitness or health sensors are supported.

Researchers from the University of Bayreuth, Donghua University in Shanghai and Nanjing Forestry University have developed and presented such materials.

These textiles are able to charge smartphones, data glasses or other wearables on the fabric. Sensors incorporated into the fabric can transmit data directly to fitness and health wearables via the conductive fabric.
